This is a book, photographed and written by Michal Iwanowski and designed by Tom Mrazauskas (Brave books).
It took the author 5 years to finish this project. The author has traced his grandfathers and uncles steps as they escaped from soviet captivity and crossed over 2000 kilometres on their journey home in 1945. It is not only a way to reconnect with family history, it also reflects on these rare moments, when people have to reach for extreme measures just because they have no other choice left.
The book is medium sized and is supposed to resemble a log-journal. The inside pages are printed on an uncoated bulky paper. Offset printing allows to keep the photographs extra detailed.
